“ If you find yourself wandering through Montreal's Chinatown and craving some dumplings, look no further than Sammi & Soupe Dumpling. The service is friendly and efficient. As for the food, it's all about the dumplings here. The steamed dumplings are a standout w/ a juicy, flavourful filling. The fried dumplings are equally impressive, crispy on the outside while tender and juicy on the inside. The prices are also reasonable, making it an excellent option for a satisfying meal that won’t break the bank. ”
“ I got the classic Pork soup dumplings, and they were amazing. I wish I could've eaten two of them because I really wanted to try the pork and chive ones too. They were very busy with a line out the door, but we were quickly seated and served dinner. ”
“ My partner and I have been back to Sammi & Soupe Dumpling twice this week, both times have been wonderful and we are going back again this evening! We cannot wait get enough of these soup dumplings! We have ordered the Shrimp & Cilantro Soup Dumplings, Shrimp Wonton Soup, as well as the vegetarian dumplings which were all good but the steamed Shrimp & Cilantro Soup Dumplings as well as the chili/vinegar/soy sauce are what we keep coming back for. The soup dumplings come with 5 for a half portion or 10 for a full portion, but I would absolutely suggest getting the full portion because they are so delicious! Definitely would recommend for lunch or a casual dinner as the atmosphere is more lively. See y’all soon! ”
“ Friendly staff and tasty hot food that’s perfect for a snowy Montreal snow day. Good for families - a party of 9 just came in, staff quickly rearranged seating and tables for them. They can mix and match soup dumplings for a small upcharge. The bathroom is basic and usable, a little grim but not too dirty. ”
“ Sammi & Soupe Dumpling was yummy! We loved their easy to navigate menu with the picture of the animal used for their dumplings. There were so many choices, and choosing is not easy! The dumplings were super tasty, fresh, and authentic. We ordered the egg with chives vegetarian steamed dumplings and the shrimp with cabbage fried dumplings. Both dumplings were delicious, especially when dipped into the soy sauce, vinegar and red chili oil mixture made be you to your liking. The steamed dumplings texture was perfect: soft, tender and chewy (not gummy). The fried dumplings were also made to perfection: crisp and a bit crunchy. This particular location is not that spacious, so during busy hours be prepared to wait for a table. Once you order, it may take up to fifteen to twenty minutes to receive your order. The atmosphere was busy and bustling with background sounds of chatter and the preparation of orders. Overall Sammi & Soupe Dumpling was an excellent experience. The food was sooo warm, delicious and comforting on a cold winter day. We would definitely go back when visiting Montreal! ”
“ Another new restaurant to put in the rotation for when we visit Montreal. The fried dumplings were good but the soup dumplings were out of this world. We got pork and chive dumplings and will definitely get those next time we go back as well as more of the soup dumplings. ”
“ Very good food that is surprisingly filling. The peanut butter wontons had really good flavour and blended well with everything together. The curry beef pan fried wontons were good and packed itself with great flavours from both the curry and beef. The Xiao Long Bao was very tasty, the soup bursted in your mouth which paired well with the meat(lamb). Overall, good came fast and service was really good. FYI it does get really busy during lunch time. ”
“ Went there on Saturday around noon. Resto is located along the busy street of Rue De la Gauchetiere in Chinatown Montreal. At first you'll never notice their resto since there are a lot of resto in the area with lots of appetizing banners showcasing their menus, what sets them apart is the looooong line of customers willing to wait and to be seated. We decided to give it a try luckily wait time is short. Upon entering, no fancy decorations and everything is simple. Their menus only have dumplings and some appetizers. We asked the server for their best seller and we ordered the classic juicy pork, spicy tofu and pizza dumpling as recommended. Upon first bite of their dumpling, I finally understand why people are lining up. Dumpling was really delicious, can be compared to Din Fai Fung actually! I also like their " pizza twist" to usual dumpling, didnt know that cheese and dumpling combo is good (plus the crispy thing beneath the dumpling). Resto is good for quick snack/lunch/dinner. Pretty straight forward kinda resto. Overall experience was great. Hope they can expand the variety of dumpling flavors that they offer. Recommendation: there should always be someone manning the door/entrance to manage the line and avoid homeless from getting in (we were approached by a homeless while eating on our table inside the resto - asking us for money, it was a bit scary. Good thing another server was fast to act and had the homeless leave) Tip: if you dont want to wait for too long , go to their other branch at St Catherine as it has less crowd/line compared to this one ”
